Freeport Schools Wrap Up: Last Day of School May 29
Freeport students are counting down the days until summer. The last day of school for all three Freeport schools is set for Friday, May 29, 2026, according to the Walton County School District calendar.
That means students at Freeport Elementary, Freeport Middle, and Freeport High School will be ringing the final bell and trading backpacks for beach bags just before Memorial Day weekend.
Freeport High School already kicked off the season’s celebrations. The Class of 2026 walked across the stage at graduation on May 16 at 7:00 PM, held in the school’s gymnasium. Families, friends, and faculty packed the stands to cheer on the seniors as they closed one chapter and opened another.
For parents and guardians, the end of May marks a shift in daily routines. The Walton County School District calendar sets the final day for all district schools on May 29, giving Freeport families a clean break before the unofficial start of summer on Memorial Day.
Looking ahead, the district typically releases its updated academic calendar for the following school year by mid-summer. Families planning vacations, camps, or back-to-school shopping should keep an eye out for those dates in the coming weeks.
Summer break is a Freeport tradition: long days on the water, afternoons at the beach, and evenings that stretch out past sunset. Whether your summer plans involve staying local or hitting the road, here’s to a safe and happy season for students, teachers, and families across Freeport.
